Universal Basic Income is not the solution for a higher degree of automation. I believe it is an intuitive proposal to a seemingly threatening scenario but instead I think it is one of calibration. What we will witness is a new era of entirely new fields of work and job descriptions. The old system is coming of age and establishes a new layer of economic activity in which old intermediaries are eliminated and people will use services for near zero marginal cost. Universal Basic Income can only be a short to mid-term solution in any case.
