30 Things I’ve Learned About Blockchain

After 7 years of studying, teaching, investing and building

Let’s get one thing straight: blockchain is no ordinary technological leap. For the first time in history, economics, governance, and culture are being rewritten simultaneously by a single innovation. It’s the kind of ambition that would make philosophers weep, economists squirm, and technologists dream. At its best, blockchain is a dazzling promise — a world where trust is replaced by code, power is decentralized, and every participant has a stake.

But here’s the rub: blockchain isn’t all rainbows and revolution. It’s messy, flawed, and riddled with contradictions. Governance experiments often spiral into chaos; economic incentives breed greed as much as innovation; and culture? Well, let’s just say some NFT art is best left unseen. The irony is that a technology built on the premise of transparency has sparked so much confusion and controversy.
